The Treetops Kenya

Treetops has two waterholes at the lodge and a salt lick, which means that guests can be assured that they will see a variety of animals at the Treetops Lodge, not to mention the snowy peaks of Mount Kenya on clear days.
The focus is definitely game viewing and the lodge has two photographic hides at ground level, which is a great way for visitors to get up close to the unsuspecting elephants, bucks, rhinos and even lions coming to drink.  On top they have 4 decks and a rooftop-viewing platform where visitors and relax and watch all the waterhole activities.
The history of Treetops is that it is also famous for its historical royal connection.  One afternoon in February of 1952, a young English girl climbed the fig tree as a Princess.  The following morning, she descended as Queen Elizabeth II, as her father, King George VI, had died in the night. Treetops rooms are cot-like and designed like cabins on board a ship, which have open balconies and plentiful shared toilet and shower facilities.  There's even the option to be woken by an experienced hunter if one of the "Big Five" (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard or rhino) visits during the night!   Another attraction is the coffee and liqueurs that is served in the lounge, which features picture windows and trees growing through the building
